At the core of our Data Products & Insights department, Analytics Development team is responsible for enabling business decisions and process with scientific products/insights across the entire value chain in Vestas. Based out of Chennai, India, but with global focus, the team collaborates with AI Center of Enablement and Data Analytics Product Owners across the globe to develop impactful solutions that empower business to understand and continuously improve in multiple functions like Service Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Commercial globally; and creates transparency that enables data driven business optimization, through solid scientific capability & data centricity combined with business knowledge enabling Vestas maintain a global position in Analytics in the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities    

  • Primary duties will be to develop, test and deploy statistical and machine learning models for advanced analytics use cases in service operations area 
  • Support Data Scientists in feasibility studies and rapid experimentation to build ML prototypes to validate & assess potential impact, usefulness, complexity, and benefits of new ideas 
  • Develop, productionize, and deploy scalable ML solutions with automated drift monitoring from approved ML prototypes 
  • Responsible for packaging ML solutions for end-user consumption, including building API endpoints, web applications and end user interfaces 
  • Collaborate with data engineers to build scalable data pipelines to support ML deployments 
  • Share knowledge and be an active consultant to explain and showcase potentials of data science driven use-cases and industrializing machine learning in Vestas Service 

 

Qualifications    

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Engineering / Applied Statistics, with overall professional work experience in data, analytics or relevant domain for 2-6 years
  • Work experience as ML Engineer for 2+ years involving analytics product development where advanced data analytics, mathematical/statistical modeling and data science was major part of your work and followed a continuous delivery & deployment model
  • Significant hands-on experience in modelling, experiment tracking, building and deploying training & inference pipelines for machine learning models and statistical models
  • Proven work experience in developing solutions to productionize AI/ML prototypes, establishing continuous validation & retraining strategies and developing necessary API end-points & web applications
  • Experience in designing and deploying scalable AI/ML solutions using standard MLOps practices following ML Governance principles, setting up production grade back-end (e.g. production-grade code, CI/CD, etc.), establishing monitoring and alerts (e.g. system runtime, data validation, data/model drift, etc.)
  • Strong foundation in machine learning techniques (supervised & unsupervised, time series, NLP), neural networks and statistics/mathematics/probability theory

 

Competencies:

Tools/Technologies/Frameworks:

  • Comprehensive working knowledge in Python, ability to develop production grade code and solid experience with Machine Learning frameworks (i.e. scikit-learn) and ideally Deep Learning (i.e. Tensorflow, PyTorch) is mandatory
  • Experience in ML solution development and deployment is mandatory; knowledge of enterprise AI platforms like Dataiku, Databricks MLflow preferred
  • Hands-on working experience in code management / version control tools such as GIT, Azure DevOps and working with modern build, test and deployment tools is mandatory
  • Hands-on working experience in one of the Python web application development frameworks like Dash, Django, Flask or similar frameworks is recommended

Business/Soft Skills:

  • Bring not just an analytics-orientation, but the ability to use analytics to drive key success metrics related to yield management and revenue generation
  • Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with business and technology functions
