Job Description

The Operations Data Analyst Intern will work directly with the Operations Manager and Business Intelligence Reporting Analysts to add value to the Data & Research Initiatives team by collaborating to determine appropriate methodology for advanced statistical model building. The primary focus of the internship will be on statistics, machine learning, cloud computing, econometrics, marketing analytics, and data management. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he has acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting.

Operations Data Analyst Internship Learning Objectives/Task Goals:
- Research and define the purpose of data models for field operations.
- Determine business and department initiatives aspects for scope and purpose alignment.
- Identify data entities and attributes by gathering requirements from data stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Analyze existing data sources and documents to create a data dictionary or data schema.
- Specify model inputs and outcomes desired while determining relationship types.
- Quantify qualitative variables through peer collaboration and expert-advisement.
- Define metrics and measures to evaluate the success of new data model.
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- Currently enrolled Junior or Senior in a university degree program relevant to the department in which they are working, with a 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude; dependable, require minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
- Demonstrate robust assessment, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to commit to 40 hours per week.
This is a paid internship, however AMH does not provide housing, relocation, or transportation assistance.

In the states of Colorado, California, Washington, and Illinois; the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $22.00. Actual starting base pay will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
