Part-time Research Assistant I/II / Student Research Assistant in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530319)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • join an internationally active research team focusing on big data and simulation modeling development in health services and web development
  • assist with the application and validation of electronic medical record-based cohort study methodologies
  • conduct data manipulation and visualization
  • prepare scientific publications, grant proposals, and reports
  • provide general administrative and operational support
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Research Assistant I/II: a Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in the fields of epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related areas
  • Student Research Assistant: current undergraduate or postgraduate students with a background in computer science, applied artificial intelligence, decision analytics, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or similar fields
  • a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • responsible, detail-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • experience in statistical analysis and proficiency in statistical and computer modeling software (e.g., R, Python, Matlab, SAS, C++) would be advantageous
  • understanding of machine learning, AI applications, and quantitative skills in healthcare and policy research is highly valued

 

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary part-time basis for 3 to 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
