The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student for John Deere Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will…
- Work with a team to develop and improve software applications and/or data and process solutions to serve the engineering community’s needs for business decisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to collect requirements, identify solutions, and provide feedback on system capabilities and functionality
- Create documentation to ensure smooth transition of work to production
This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college/university
- Graduation date of December 2025 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 15-20 hours/week during the academic year between the business hours of 7 AM to 6 PM CST
- Available to work 32-40 hours/week during the summer semester between the business hours of 7 AM to 6 PM CST
- Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a regular basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)
- Intermediate proficiency with Office 365
- Experience with one or more computer programming languages (such as Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy

- Knowledge of user interface design concepts
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with file versioning and repository management in Git/GitHub
- Experience with data visualization tools
