We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to help us build and maintain data infrastructure to support HR insights and analytics in Estonia.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!

About the role

As an Analytics Engineer in the People Analytics team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining data infrastructure to support HR insights and analytics. You will focus on transforming raw data into structured formats, ensuring data is clean, accessible, and ready for analysis. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analysis, bridging the gap between technical and business teams. You’ll be responsible for building dimensions and metrics to support KPIs by designing and managing ELT processes, developing scalable data models, and collaborating with analysts to ensure seamless reporting and dashboarding capabilities.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines across platforms using AWS tools like S3, RDS, Redshift, and Databricks. Ensure accuracy through regular testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting to enable smooth data flow.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Finance technology and People Analytics to create robust, efficient models (e.g., star schemas) for fast querying and reliable reporting, tailored to meet evolving business needs.
  • Centralise data from sources like Workday and Greenhouse into warehouses for BI tools (Looker, Tableau). Use Python, Airflow, Fivetran, and DBT to automate and optimise data workflows for seamless operations.
  • Partner with HR, analytics engineers, and leadership to deliver actionable insights, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and business requirements.
  • Support interactive BI dashboards (e.g Looker) that empower data-driven decisions. Foster close collaboration with analysts to refine metrics and visualisations for maximum impact.
  • Set development standards for the analytics layer and ensure a well-functioning contribution model. Create documentation and set documentation standards for data assets & products: ETL documentation, metric glossary.
  • Uphold data security and compliance with best practices for access control. Document data pipelines, models, and transformations to support transparency, reproducibility, and scalability.

About you:

  • You’re proficient in Python for building data pipelines, writing automation scripts, and handling large datasets. You’ll also have great knowledge of SQL for querying, transforming, and analysing data across various platforms.
  • You’re experienced with cloud platforms, especially AWS (S3, RDS, Redshift, Databricks) for building data storage and processing solutions.
  • You’re an expert in using ETL tools such as DBT, Airflow, and Fivetran to build and automate scalable data workflows.
  • You have a strong understanding of data modelling concepts, metrics and semantic layers and their application in BI environments.
  • It’s not essential but if you have experience working with HR data and platforms like One Model, Visier, or Workday, as well as an understanding of HR metrics and KPIs (e.g., retention, engagement, performance) and their application in workforce planning and analytics, then that’s a plus!

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

Why you’ll love it here:
