We seek a highly analytical and results-driven Power BI Analyst who will play a critical role in interpreting business requirements and transforming them into data-driven solutions that optimize business processes. This role demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to manage complex data pipelines, and the creativity to develop insightful dashboards and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SQL Query Writing and Database Management: Write complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting. Optimize query performance, design relational database schemas, and support ETL processes. Develop stored procedures and functions to automate data-related tasks.
- Data Preparation and Integration: Employ Power Query in Excel and SQL for importing, cleaning, transforming, and integrating data from various sources. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data through rigorous quality checks and governance practices.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced Excel features, including complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Pivot, and DAX, to analyze and interpret business data. Develop BI reports and dashboards using Power BI, with a strong emphasis on data visualization and interactive reporting.
- System Monitoring and Documentation:
- Monitor and maintain automated systems and perform manual tasks as necessary to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of data management and reporting.
- Provide training and support to the process and technology team, and end-users, enabling them to navigate and interact with Power BI reports effectively.
- Troubleshoot/test solutions to ensure optimal performance, tune these solutions as necessary, and document the results.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest trends in business intelligence, analytics, and data management. Actively seek opportunities to enhance technical skills and apply best practices in BI and data analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proficiency in data management, encompassing data cleaning, transformation, and validation using Excel’s advanced functions and Power Query.
- Zealous dedication to data quality and data-driven decision-making.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role. Internship experience in BI or analytics considered.
- Completion of PL-300 would be an asset
- Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power Query, with the ability to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and basic knowledge of programming languages (Python, R) for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and effective manner.
- Comfortable working in a startup-like environment that is fast-paced and nebulous; demonstrating tenacity and resilience
- Self-motivated, able to work independently as well as contribute to cross-functional and global teams.
