Responsibilities (how we will measure success) 

 

  • As a Power BI developer, you will support the business by developing dashboards using Power BI based on requirements with linked content, drill-down views, nesting parameters, and other features that can be leveraged from the reporting platform Knowledge of other BI / Reporting tools. 

  • You will work within the Group Analytics Team to serve functions based globally across The Group.  

  • You will be involved in reviewing and challenging requirements, designing end-to-end reporting to enable the tool to be used in a self-service manner as far as possible  

  • You’ll work in an agile way to ensure the highest priority areas are focused on, and we are meeting our internal and potentially external client needs  

  • You’ll interact with colleagues across the business to ensure requirements are met and we are building the tool in a scalable manner with an eye on the future  

  • You’ll also assist in the analysis of underlying issues and their root causes, identifying available options for consideration such as new developments  

  • You will be a strong communicator able to articulate issues being faced and setting expectations in terms of time to delivery requests  

  • You will support the wider group reporting enhancements & requirement deployment in Power BI when not supporting our task management tool, ensuring exposure to a wide range of teams and requirements  

  • You will also work in collaboration with the other members of the Group Analytics Team in establishing the value of any changes requested to ensure that they are in support of and/or not in direct conflict with any wider initiatives being run locally or across the group.  

 

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis) 

 

  • Develop Power Bi to ensure we have a minimum viable product in terms of reporting in place  

  • Investigate operational issues or problems with reports  

  • Support documentation and video recording that supports training of new users on the reporting elements of the tool  

  • Understand current data sources & existing reporting data models vis-à-vis current reporting requirements and recommend improvements or adjustments when applicable  

  • Present and defend solution design decisions. All design decisions should be based on the overall future roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles.  

  • Prepare or update existing reporting specifications, users guides, and other reporting related documentations  

  • Develop & Publish reporting visualisations using the prescribed tools, and perform Data Quality Review  

  • Document requirements and facilitate discussions on priorities from the tool  

  • Communicate the benefits of your changes to the user base and monitor usage of the tool and reports to help assess focus areas for future  

  • To work to, and apply, the IQ-EQ Group Governance standards  

  • Ensure that end-users requests are addressed within Business SLAs  

  • Support the delivery of developments for active projects and group objectives 

  • Ongoing development of enhancements to existing platforms 

  • Support day-to-day requests received from the business 

Qualifications

Required Experience  

  • At least 1 year of experience in data warehouse and analytics with a proven successful track record  

  • Proficiency in developing dashboards using Power BI based on business requirements with linked content, drill-down views, nesting parameters, and other features that can be leveraged from the reporting platform Knowledge of other BI / Reporting tools  

  • Proficient in SQL development, debugging, and optimization  

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools  

  • Willingness to learn new related technologies and is keen on updating oneself on technological trends using the current reporting tool stack 

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering 

 

Desired Criteria:  

  • Experience of operating within a firm that shares some of the following features: Financial Services / Private Equity / Investor services industry /Globally distributed teams / Fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment  

  • Familiar with applying standards, practices and assessments relevant to product development is a plus  

  • A quick learner eager and proactive to support the business and become a subject matter expert
