Job Description
This role will be based in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New York, Chicago, Carpinteria or Omaha.

We are looking for a Power BI Developer who can leverage their data modeling skills to create a Power BI semantic layer that supports compelling and insightful reports and dashboards for our business stakeholders. Candidates should possess expert-level knowledge of business data modeling, logical data modeling, and schema design as well as deep knowledge of data quality evaluation and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining and optimizing data models in Power BI that support various reporting and analytical needs.
- Support and design movement and migration of high volumes of data into Power BI with the best possible performance.
- Utilize best practices and standards to create entities, relationships, measures, calculation groups, field parameters, etc that support stakeholder requirements.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability within solutions through data validation and quality checks.
- Design and build easily consumable, accessible, and insights-driven visualizations to end-users
- Troubleshooting and resolving data issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Bring critical thinking & problem-solving skills to a range of challenging problems.
- Collaborating with other developers, analysts and business users to understand requirements, provide feedback and deliver solutions.
- Train and coach internal and external teams to ensure effective knowledge management activity.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years SQL experience
- 5+ years of related experience creating data models (e.g. SSAS Tablular/OLAP, Power BI, Tableau, LookML)
- 5+ years of experience with a BI or visualization tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- BA/BS degree or equivalent degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successfully implemented a self-service semantic layer using the Microsoft stack (Hybrid and / or full cloud) for a large company
- Experience with Microsoft stack beyond Power BI (e.g. Analysis Services, Fabric)
- Experience with MDX or DAX coding to query against tabular and multidimensional models
- Experience with all facets of the SDLC (from requirements through sunset)

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $106,000 to $174,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
