We are now looking for a Power BI Developer to join us fully remotely in the UK, on a 12 month fixed term contract. As our Power BI Developer, you will work with Product Owners to understand stakeholder reporting requirements, ensuring these requirements are implemented from both a functional and non-functional (i.e. performance) perspective. We typically work to a two-week Sprint cycle; using Azure DevOps to maintain relevant Epics, Themes, Features, User Stories and Tasks. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Designing & Developing BI Reports & Dashboards: Understanding stakeholder requirements, data model design, developing visualisations that provide actionable insights.   
  • Data Management: Managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate & ready for analysis; designing and implementing data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes.   
  • Data Modelling: Understand data modelling concepts and be able to create effective data models to support reporting needs.   
  • Data Visualisation: Good understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices to present data in an easily understandable manner.   
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Functional and Non-Functional Testers to understand their needs, ensuring solutions delivered meet them.   
  • Ensuring Data Accuracy: Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data presented in dashboards and reports by validating data and implementing quality checks.   
  • End User Training: Training end users on how to use reports and dashboards effectively, including how to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.   
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot data related issues and maintain Power BI infrastructure to ensure it is up to date and running smoothly.   
  • Data Security: Implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.   
  • Staying updated with latest features, updates and best practices ensuring they are leveraged effectively in an appropriate manner. 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject.   
  • Great experience as a BA within a software delivery environment, ideally working with Product teams.   
  • Excellent experience with data & systems analysis using Excel and either Power BI or Tableau  
  • Ability to produce requirements definition and functional specifications based on as-is and to-be processes.  
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams: Engineering, Scrum, Program, DevOps etc   
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement experience   
  • Experience in business process (modelling and tools).   
  • Fantastic communication and organisation skills  
  • Experience with modern technology stacks & markup languages    
  • Experience with project management  
  • Competency in Microsoft applications & experience using Engineering Tools (Azure DevOps)  
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing development environment.  
  • Experience in the farming/agriculture sector would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

The salary for this role is £50,000-£60,000.
