W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Principal Applied Machine Learning Scientist in Lake Forest, IL with the following requirements: Master’s degree in Data Science or related field plus 2 years related experience. Prior experience must include: Deploy pipeline using Python to process geological datasets such as Point of interest (POI) data to support natural disaster risk score prediction; Formulate internal branding strategies with Dask, Dash, and FastAPI to boost data science service adoption and enhance cross-sales across e-commerce, sales, and marketing; Build, train, and fine-tune machine learning and deep learning models to achieve high predictive accuracy with frameworks like XGBoost and TensorFlow while also developing an interactive measurement framework with HTML, CSS, and Plotly for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across sales, marketing, and supply chain functions; Spearhead and construct software development kits (SDKs) aimed at monitoring data drift and the quality of machine learning models using S3, DynamoDB, and open-source data validation packages with Evidently; Develop asynchronous product recommendation APIs to support customer bases in the multi-million range by orchestrating caching, load balancing, and autoscaling using Kubernetes and the Redis Serialization Protocol, all within the framework of CI/CD practices.
