As a senior technology leader, you are a driving force behind our vision of building the technology platform that will help 10M change-makers deliver a billion acts of goodness by 2025. In our first phase geared toward this vision, we are establishing the trusted and scalable infrastructure and development processes that will continue to create ongoing value for Benevity.
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Architect to lead our data strategy and provide overall data, advanced analytics and GenAI leadership for our organization. As the Principal Architect, Data and AI, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the development of robust and scalable data-focused software solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and executive leadership, to define data policies and operating standards, drive innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that help us to operate more efficiently and deliver value to clients..
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain the overall data & AI strategy and vision, in line with business goals and industry best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the data & analytics teams, ensuring adherence to data architecture principles, AI policies and standards, and methodologies for adopting AI in operational processes.
- Collaborate with product management and executive leadership to define and prioritize GenAI initiatives, considering both short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions that meet customer needs and align with architectural standards.
- Drive innovation and keep abreast of emerging technologies, tools, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve our data capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning among the technical and engineering teams, promoting cross-functional communication and the exchange of ideas.
- Evaluate and select data vendors, tools, and frameworks that align with the vision and provide strategic advantage to the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate technical risks, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, security standards, and compliance requirements to ensure our solutions meet necessary standards.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field. A relevant technical certification is a plus.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in data and AI, with a strong focus on architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale enterprise systems.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, driving data strategy, and guiding data and analytics teams.
- In-depth knowledge of the use of data to support software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
- Strong expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, both traditional and generative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while paying attention to details.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical team members, executives, and customers.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of security principles, performance optimization, scalability, and reliability in software design.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, foster a culture of technical excellence, and stay abreast of emerging technologies
