Intro

We are searching for a Principal Data Engineer to join our growth team in scaling our next-generation, AI-powered architecture design product. Your contributions will have a direct impact on our growth initiatives, enabling us to run rapid experiments and derive actionable insights that shape the user journey. By leveraging our rich dataset of user interactions with complex 3D modeling and machine learning features, you’ll help us identify opportunities to enhance user engagement and drive product adoption, ultimately empowering our users to create more sustainable architectural solutions.

About us

We are on a mission to help design better cities. According to the United Nations, more than 90% of future population growth will happen in cities. The construction industry is responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions. To respond to this trend and combat climate change, the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry needs to change the way they work.

We are building the new generation of cloud-based software tools that will drive this change in AEC. We started our journey as Spacemaker, a Norway-based startup, and became part of Autodesk in 2020.

Our tools help architects, urban planners, and real estate developers find the smartest and most sustainable ways to unlock the potential of their projects. We focus on enabling outcome-based design through assessing living quality (sun, daylight potential, noise, et al), environmental impact (embodied and operational carbon), and profitability of our users’ projects.

How we work

We’re a fundamentally agile organization. Our way of working is built on empowered teams which means they have the freedom to innovate at speed while staying aligned. We strongly believe in servant leadership and team accountability. Our teams are empowered to find the best way to develop their solutions, taking a bottom-up approach to decision making.

In each team, software and machine-learning engineers work closely together with product managers and designers, collaborating across functions and time zones. Autonomy also means it’s up to you to decide where you’d like to work from; we strongly believe in a hybrid working culture.
