Job Summary: As an eCommerce Architect for Caterpillar’s eCommerce Platform team, you will lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale eCommerce solutions. This role emphasizes defining robust, scalable, and secure architectures aligned with business objectives, leveraging modern trends such as headless commerce, composable architecture, and microservices. What You Will Do: Architect and Design Solutions: Define end-to-end architecture for eCommerce platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Technology Leadership: Stay current with emerging trends in eCommerce architecture and guide strategic technology decisions. Integration Strategy: Design and oversee integration with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, analytics, and other enterprise systems. Governance and Standards: Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across eCommerce applications.

Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineering teams, and UX designers to deliver cohesive solutions. Performance Optimization: Ensure systems meet high availability and performance benchmarks.

Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams. What You Will Have: Decision Making and Critical Thinking • Applies structured techniques for evaluating architectural alternatives. • Identifies, organizes relevant data and ideas; clarifies and prioritizes concerns.

• Assists in assessing risks, benefits, and consideration of alternatives. Effective Communications • Communicates complex architectural concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Delivers helpful feedback and listens without defensiveness.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Software Development • Contrasts advantages and drawbacks of different development languages and tools. • Provides consulting on selection and utilization of development toolkits.

• Has participated in development of multiple or large-scale software products. Software Development Life Cycle • Works with formal life cycle methodology. • Explains phases, activities, dependencies, deliverables, and key decision points.
