You will be part of the Cerner Machine Learning Ecosystem (CMLE) team. CMLE is a

scalable platform for model product development and operations, emphasizing well-rounded

design. These models, demonstrating machine learning or statistics, are embedded as

features in Oracle Cerner products, delivering actionable intelligence within familiar

workflows to clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build distributed, scalable, fault tolerant software components for
  • Oracle Health ML platform on top of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Build and support data pipelines using big data technologies like Apache Spark,
  • Hadoop etc.
  • Build services to support real-time model inferencing using technologies like
  • Kubernetes, Kafka, Flink etc.
  • Build tooling/infrastructure to support model training workflows on healthcare data.
  • Build tooling/infrastructure to support model hosting and monitoring of model performance for continuous improvement.
  • Mentoring and developing other engineers on the team.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle – design, testing, CI/CD and production operations
  • Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events
  • Leverage plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy and solve software
  • Participate in on-call for the services within the team and resolve issues, when they arise.

Responsibilities displayed in the job posting

  • You are proficient in one or more of Java, C#, C/C++ and/or Python
  • You have prior experience working on distributed systems at a cloud service provider
  • You have prior experience working with at least one relational or a NoSQL database
  • You have Data Science and Machine Learning experience
  • You will have Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Development background
  • You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
  • You are familiar with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, software-defined networking, etc.
  • You have experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and solve issues when they arise
  • Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other partners
  • You feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)
