Job Description

About the team Follow Up Boss (FUB) is Zillow’s central Customer Relationship Management platform, empowering real estate agents and teams to manage leads, build client relationships, and automate workflows. As the core of Zillow’s agent tooling ecosystem, we partner closely with other Zillow teams to deliver innovative solutions that help agents and consumers connect and collaborate. Our team is focused on accelerating FUB’s evolution through product innovation, platform modernization, operational maturity, and AI-powered capabilities that enhance both agent and engineering experiences.

About the role As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will lead high-impact initiatives that shape the future of Follow Up Boss. You will bring clarity to complex challenges, unite teams around shared goals, and drive programs that advance FUB’s capabilities and strategic roadmap. Your work will influence architectural and product direction, strengthen agent workflows, and help integrate AI into next-generation experiences for agents and engineers. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful change and raise the bar for program leadership at Zillow.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, You Will Get To: Define and drive strategic initiatives and technical investments across multiple engineering teams, creating clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and ensuring alignment with product and engineering leadership. Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional partners to translate business objectives into clear technical program structures, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.

Serve as the connective tissue across engineering, product, design, operations, and customer support, fostering strong cross-team partnerships. Partner with engineering and technical leaders to influence architectural direction, identify risks, recommend scalable solutions, and guide teams toward sound technical decisions. Lead program execution from concept through delivery, shaping scope, breaking work into milestones, anticipating risks, and enabling teams to deliver reliably.

Drive process and operational improvements that enhance visibility, reduce coordination costs, and strengthen platform reliability and maturity. Champion AI adoption by identifying opportunities to incorporate AI into agent-facing products and engineering workflows, and modeling effective use of AI tools. Mentor TPMs and other program leaders, share best practices, and help scale program leadership capabilities across Follow Up Boss Engineering.
