Job Description

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Procurement and Travel Services, and the daily supervision of the Procurement Specialist, the Procurement and SCM Data Analytics Consultant will be responsible for supporting procurement and Supply Chain Management (SCM) by analyzing data within existing ERP systems, performing data quality assessments, and generating insights to support decision-making. The Consultant will provide technical support, conduct data validation, and ensure data integrity within the ERP system. They will promote a collaborative, client-focused, quality, and results-oriented approach in the procurement section, working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
The Procurement and SCM Data Analytics Consultant works in close collaboration with Operations, Programme and Project teams in the Business Unit, Region and UN Women HQ. Their role will focus on highlighting best practices, monitoring the procurement function, and providing data-driven insights to support informed decision-making and improve procurement processes. This will contribute that procurement activities align with UN Women’s strategic goals and deliver value through efficiency and sustainability.

Key Functions and Accountabilities
1. Procurement oversight improvements
- Contributing statistics and insights to assist the development of policies, guidelines, reports and presentations on procurement operations within UN Women, including sustainable procurement and Gender-Responsive Procurement
- Generate data-driven insights, dashboards, and reports for procurement and SCM operations, using analytics tools to enhance decision-making processes.
- Support the oversight of procurement activities to ensure compliance with UN Women procurement policies, procedures, and any relevant regulations or rules.
2. Procurement Data Analytics
- Analyze supplier, agreement, contract, and any other SCM data to support procurement activities across all UN Women offices and regions.
- Analyzing complex and connected data, testing hypotheses, identifying patterns and trends, proposing recommendations and deriving statistics and insights related to procurement. This includes procurement plans, spending information, vendor data, Gender-Responsive Procurement indicators (including WOB and Gender-Responsive Suppliers, contract compliance data and benchmarking.
- Perform data quality assessments and cleanse procurement data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
3. Procurement data verification and capacity development
- Collaborate closely with IT and procurement teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure data integrity within the ERP System ERP.
- Coordinate data validation and testing efforts, working with multiple stakeholders to verify data integrity and ensure compliance with policies.
- Contribute to capacity-building efforts by creating technical documentation, guidance materials, and data usage guidelines for stakeholders involved in procurement.
- Assist with user acceptance testing, ensuring data-related issues are resolved and the system meets quality standards.
4. System Support, Capacity Development, and User Training
- Support effective communication on ERP System/ changes, benefits, and system functionalities between HQ and regional and local users to ensure alignment.
- Coordinate data collection, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission in specified formats, while liaising with focal points across the Organization to manage input and follow-up on all ERP System activities.
- Identify and assign user roles, permissions, and system access within the ERP System framework, and provide responsive technical assistance, training, and support on system queries in line with established protocols.
- Support training and knowledge-sharing efforts related to ERP System and procurement policies, including facilitating learning programs and capacity-building initiatives tailored to regional and country-specific contexts.
5. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary to support procurement and SCM operations
Education and Certification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics or other related fields.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- CIPS level 3 or another procurement certification is an asset.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years (with a Master’ s Degree) or 2 years (with a first-level university degree) of progressively responsible experience in procurement, supply chain management, data analytics, or related fields.
- Experience in data analysis, data cleansing, and data migration, particularly in ERP systems.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud or other ERP systems at a global or regional level is an asset.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Spanish or French is an asset.
