The Product Owner will be responsible for leading the analysis, development and delivery of innovative automation and artificial intelligence proof of concept and production solutions that will transform the way we underwrite, price, and service our customers. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, engineers, and vendors to collect use cases, define requirements, prioritize backlog, and oversee the implementation of AI-powered products and services. You will also conduct systems analysis to ensure that AI solutions are integrated seamlessly with existing systems, processes, and data sources. You will stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in artificial intelligence and insurance and help to share information and best practices with end users. The Product Owner has a significant role in quality and is the only team member empowered to “accept” new stories. This is a critical role and typically requires one PO to support one (sometimes two) Agile teams

Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for automation and artificial intelligence solutions across the organization 

  • Collaborate with business units, subject matter experts, and external partners to identify, validate, and document use cases and business value of automation and artificial intelligence applications 

  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to communicate potential use cases and identify appropriate architectural solutions 

  • Manage the product backlog, write user stories, and accept completed features 

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives 

  • Ensure alignment and integration of automation and artificial intelligence solutions with existing systems, processes, and data sources 

  • Monitor and measure the performance, quality, and business impact of automation and artificial intelligence solutions 

  • Provide feedback and guidance to the data science and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality and scalable artificial intelligence solutions 

  • Stay up-to-date with current generative AI technologies, such as OpenAI, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and automation capabilities such as Microsoft Power Platform, Alteryx, UI Path, etc. 

  • Share information and best practices related to automation and artificial intelligence with end user community 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, related field or relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management or systems analysis, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
  • Experience in working with automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise business value propositions
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Ability to travel for business needs (<10%)
