Quant Analytics Lead – ML & Data Analytics

As a Quant Analytics Lead, in the ML Intelligence Analytics organization, you will utilize data analytics and programming skills to assist and contribute to optimizing Chase’s machine learning products, while providing insight of the results that were found in the analysis. The role is hybrid manager & hands-on role so we’re looking for exceptionally creative, ambitious, “data curious” thinkers who can help extract true business value from the data. From a managerial perspective you will lead a small team of analysts to leverage Chase’s knowledge management repository (Chase Answers) to help assisting employees to solve more complex problems and discovery opportunities for customers to self-service information on the repository of information. As a team manager you will also have responsibilities to oversee all MLIO analytics team members in India that support Conversational Insights, Channel Personalization, Real time analytics & agent assistant (Evee).
Job Responsibilities:
- Support & lead partnerships with key Ops stakeholders and Ops Product groups focusing on MLIO Knowledge Management with strong understanding of business drivers, underlying data and processes.
- Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing sharp insights and conclusions, often for executives, leadership teams and business partners in regularly scheduled analytics meetings.
- Transform data, reporting, analysis into insight that improves the existing operational processes & applications that impact thousands of front-line specialist.
- Build a suite of reports that allows Leadership and front-line employees to quickly see relevant pipeline, productivity, and scorecard metrics associated with Knowledge Management usage and tracking.
- Develop roadmap of advanced analytics initiatives to support achievement within multiple lead channels (focused on agent facing applications & their knowledge management repositories).
- Create behavioral analytics to understand the specialist and personalize their experience.
- Identifying, testing and deploying new data types that can give insights and enhance existing prediction capabilities to provide analytically recommendations that align to core objective.
- Proactively investigate issues and problems in both model building and production phases and document KPI, PoC, workflow, and data sources in clear and concise way.
- Strong coding and heavy lifting in writing and maintaining Alteryx, SQL, Tableau and Python code.
- Manage a direct team of 2-3 analysts and oversee additional 2-3 analysts who are supporting other functions.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or related fields)
- 15+ years of experience in applying statistical methods to real world problems using SQL and at least one of the following analytical tools: Alteryx, Python, and Tableau
- Experience with visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation
- Strong Mathematical/statistical skills by using Alteryx/Python/SQL/Tableau
- Have a demonstrated ability to think both independently and collaboratively to implement creative solutions that solve business problems, being diligent in the detail while maintaining focus on broader purpose and business objectives
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts or methodologies: Linear/logistic regression, statistical models, clustering, decision tree and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM , Random Forest, Boosting, text mining, NLP, etc..
- Leadership: Mentor and coach a small group of 6 FTEs & drive and able to help in identifying and onboarding talents across industry, mentor newer team members and identify growth opportunities for existing team members
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Experience using cloud services: Azure or AWS etc.
- Experience in Financial Services or like industry desired
- Candidate should be able to crisply synthesize data into actionable insights for executive leadership.
- Have a strong grasp of big data disciplines, AWS, Agile (scrum) methodologies, and new technologies
- Previously worked in an insights function at a financial services firm or consulting firm supporting Financial firms.
