Position description
Rauschecker Lab – Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist
The Rauschecker lab is seeking a Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist to serve as a research specialist for our research group, which is focused on applying artificial intelligence algorithms to developing quantitative descriptions of brain images (MRI and CT) in health and disease. The research specialist will also develop a variety of analytical models to integrate this information into useful clinical predictions regarding a variety of neurological disorders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on independent projects supervised by the lab PI but will primarily work in collaboration with other lab researchers/trainees to develop and support analytic tools for lab projects. Responsibilities will also include dissemination of research findings at national conferences and through peer-reviewed publications.
Required Qualifications:
- Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or a baccalaureate degree with three or more years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience.
- Applicants must meet all of the qualifications by the time of hire.
- Applicant materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong scientific writing skills, as evidenced by prior scientific publications and/or writing samples.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- The successful candidate should have some background in engineering or computer science and strong and varied data analytic skills, including experience and facility coding in such environments as Python, R, and/or MATLAB.
- Experience developing Machine Learning algorithms, working with large datasets, and experience directly related to development of image processing and analysis pipelines.
- Prior experience working in the research lab setting.
See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $51,300-$181,800.
