Research Analyst – Defence Data QA (RA2)

JOB PURPOSE

Janes is looking for an experienced Research Analyst with a keen eye for detail to join our established team based in Bangalore. The Research Analyst will be working on data from across the entire Janes portfolio.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES

• Review structured data output by rigorously enforcing structured data templates to provide customers with quality-assured datasets

• Ensure correctness, currency, completeness, and consistency of data through rigorous checking and review.

• Examine data across varying datasets, using look-up tables to find flaws, before amending or removing incorrect, incomplete, improperly formatted, or duplicated data.

• Identify and analysing data discrepancies or anomalies and work with relevant teams to resolve them

• Create and maintain documentation for data quality standards, procedures, and best practices

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards

• Provide support for data validation during data migration

• Undertake data-oriented projects as required, involving the assessment, rationalisation, and cleaning of data.

THE IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE

• Conversant with advanced features (viz macros, formulas) in MS Excel, MS Word, and Power Point, PowerBI is preferred

• Working experience in any of the tools viz – Data Analytics/KNIME/Tableau/SQL or similar for examining the raw data and to suggest innovative solutions/models/theories will be added advantage

• Excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to problem solving

• Experience of working within a data environment (databases, data transformation, information sciences, or similar) or categorisation/classification

• Possess excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to adapt quickly to work process changes. Accept new challenges and roles as and

when assigned

• A sound understanding of the classification of platforms, systems, and specifications

related to military equipment will be an added advantage.

EDUACATIONAL QUALIFICATION

University Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (Engg/International Relations/Geo-politics/Maritime Defence & Security/Defence and Strategic Studies/Defence and National Security Studies) or equivalent.
