Research Analyst III
Job Description
Overview
A full-time Research Analyst III position is currently available in Dr. Andrew Mayer’s laboratory at The Mind Research Network (MRN). The position will primarily be responsible for data analyses for both preclinical and clinical neuroscience data. The employee will participate in the design and execution of research studies, as well as coordinate and execute the conduct of experimental tests and procedures, including testing and evaluating current procedures, coordinates the processing and analysis of data and assists in judging the validity of experimental test data obtained. The RA III is expected to be proficient in R and Linux-based neuroimaging software (FSL/AFNI/FreeSurfer). Experience with Python and Matlab is preferred.
Qualifications
Requires a Master’s degree in a biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, computer science or a related scientific discipline and at least one year of research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ and Matlab; familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and analysis; demonstrated working knowledge of UNIX platforms; and a familiarity with neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism, excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Preferred computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience.
