Purpose

We are looking for a Research Engineer & this position will be based at Noida.

Areas of interest include: Cryptography, Blockchain, Privacy-preserving technologies, Biometrics.

Key Responsibilities

As a research engineer, you are expected to bring expertise in the following areas:

• Hands on development using agile development methodologies for creating high-quality software products and solutions (Full stack development)
• Develop Innovation Lab projects (from initial scoping to implementation) to drive innovation in areas aligned with IDEMIA’s business objectives.
• Conduct research/studies/POC’s related to technology innovation and business innovation.
• Design and execute experiments, collect, and analyze data and draw conclusions to support decision-making.
• Work well within a fast-paced cross-functional environment with multiple teams, including engineering, infrastructure/IT, R&D and business development.
• Effectively communicate and demonstrate innovation projects/ research results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with research engineers globally to identify research problems, propose solutions and develop prototypes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry trends in biometrics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cryptography, blockchain, and related fields and assess their potential in innovation projects.
• Contribute to patent filings and intellectual property development to protect novel inventions and discoveries. 

What we are looking for

 Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s in a relevant field is preferred.

Competencies:

• A minimum of 1-4 years of experience working in a similar role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (Data Structures, Algorithm design)
• Hands-on experience with MERN Stack development
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C/C++, Java, C#, Rust)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python-preferred, Ruby, Perl)
• Hands-on experience with building modern applications and infrastructure in public cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Exposure to modern Web development is a plus
• Good knowledge of cryptography is a plus
• Exposure to CI/CD is a plus
• Willingness and curious to explore emerging technologies and industry trends, such as cryptography, machine learning, biometrics, blockchain etc.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision, strong team player, results oriented and metrics driven
• Experience with prototyping and rapid iteration techniques to validate ideas and concepts.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with diverse professionals, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
