About our group:
The Seagate Research group is responsible for analyzing how data is generated, transported, and stored from creation to archive. By gaining deep insight into all aspects of data from creation through analysis and storage, the team identifies ways to improve Seagate’s products as well as identifying new market opportunities.
About the role – you will:
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot hardware/software solutions
- Work collaboratively in a small team to create research prototype designs for new and emerging markets.
About you:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team oriented individual, eager to learn and work with experienced mentors.
Your experience includes:
- Test equipment experience- DMM, Oscilloscope
- Linux (Ubuntu), Docker
- Software development skills
- Version control and issue tracking
- Python
- C/C++
- Failure analysis and debugging
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
You might also have experience with or interest in:
- Small computer boards – Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Beaglebones, Arduinos
- Git, GitHub, GitLab, Java
- CXL
- FPGA’s, Xilinx tools – Vitis, Vivado, Xsct
- Machine Learning / AI
- Test equipment experience – Logic Analyzer, Network analyzer, Bus Analyzer

Colorado’s 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base salary range for this position: $57,700.00 – $101,200.00. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
