Gatik’s Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.

About the role:

Gatik is seeking several passionate and skilled interns to join our AI Research group for an internship focused on core autonomy modules – Perception, Behavior Prediction, Planning, and Controls.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct research to conceptualize, design, and/or implement innovative solutions for autonomous driving including but not limited to applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, and probabilistic robotics.
  • Collaborate closely with experienced mentors within the team to drive research projects forward.
  • Engage with product groups to facilitate the transfer of cutting-edge technology into practical applications.
  • Participate in drafting scientific articles and/or patent applications.

What we’re looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in AV/Robotics-related field.
  • Proficiency in both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of artificial intelligence techniques for AVs.
  • Good programming skills, particularly in rapid prototyping environments, such as Python, and MATLAB/Simulink. Experience with C++ and/or parallel programming (e.g., CUDA) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch and tensorflow.
  • Demonstrated research aptitude with a promising track record of contributions.
  • Related publication in top-tier journals and/or conferences (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, CORL, NeurIPS, ICRA, IROS, CDC, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas effectively and collaborate within a dynamic team environment.
