Research Internship on Computer Architecture for Data Analytics

ERI includes Huawei Zurich Research Center (ZRC), located in Zurich, now present also in Lausanne.

ZRC focusses on fundamental research in the areas of High-Performance Computing, Computer Architecture, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AI, Neuromorphic Computing, Data Storage, Cloud, Networking and more.

Huawei Switzerland Research Center is facing a massive expansion and we are always in the lookout for young talents who are interested in gathering industry experience and do an internship with us.

Required skills:
1. Enrolled in Masters/PhD program.
2. Proficient in C, C++.
3. Knowledge about databases (SQL operators, big data analytics algorithms).
4. Knowledge about server CPU and SoC architecture.
5. Experience with profiling tools (perf, async profiler).
6. Research acumen in analyzing bottlenecks, brainstorming solutions, and evaluating ideas with simulators.

Auxiliary skills:
1. Experience with computer architecture simulators (gem5-accel, Aladdin, Zsim, DRAMSim, Cacti).
2. Proficient in Verilog, SQL.
3. Experience with FPGA programming.
4. Knowledge about analytics engine and data formats (Spark, Velox, DuckDB, Arrow, Parquet).
5. Proficient in reading and analyzing research papers.
