On any given day you are likely to find yourself starting off by participating in a daily scrum meeting, followed by:
- Developing / maintaining / owning scalable software systems that incorporate optimization and visual analytics to solve complex global supply chain problems.
- Proposing innovative modeling approaches or algorithms and reviewing the designs or code of other engineers.
- Collaborating with other operations research engineers, data Scientists, data engineers, business architects, or supply chain analysts to provide high quality decision support through operations research methods.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for the decision support systems.
- Gathering requirements on new decision support problems and managing continuous improvement projects through frequent interaction with customers of decision support tools.
High-Level Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and document system wide solutions applying engineering, mathematical, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
- Identify and solve highly complex problems in supply chain, operations, decision science and distribution network problems. Requires a thorough understanding of supply chain and knowledge to develop software applications of complex engineering models and apply them to identify and drive solutions.
- Build, develop, validate, and apply mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization, and simulation models and tools.
- Uses predictive modeling, statistics, machine learning, data mining, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structured and unstructured data.
- Work closely with the business units to identify root causes, define the strategic and tactical needs, and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions.
- Team, interpersonal, analysis and presentation skills are required to lead and manage projects, and to influence and work within varying levels of customer management and decision bodies.
- Coaching and mentoring other team members.
- Responsible for automation applications and/or infrastructure including development of software applications.
Qualifications:
- BS and/or MS in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or equivalent field like Manufacturing, Computer Science, Data Science, or Supply Chain
- 5 or more years of development in IBM CPLEX Optimization Programming Language (OPL) or related programming tools like Concert, Gurobi, etc
- Professional experience with solving optimization problems with (Linear Programming, Mixed Integer Programming, Constraint programming, etc.).
- 5 or more years of development in Python (or similar Object-Oriented Programming language)
- Professional Experience working with large datasets, and proficient with SQL, SSMS (SQL Server)
- Experience in developing and maintaining operations research optimization models for multi-echelon supply chain organizations.
- Experience developing software architectures spanning multiple technologies and languages.
- Experience proposing innovative modeling approaches or algorithms.
- Expert in creating, modifying, and reverse engineering complex stored procedures and user defined functions that will be used in critical Planning applications.
- Expert in mathematical optimization and decomposition of complex problems for custom solutions
- Able to understand business requirements, develop systems, and managing continuous improvement projects.
- In Depth knowledge of Supply Chain and Supply planning concepts and should have worked on integrating custom or enterprise supply planning systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Should be great team player, problem solver with critical thinking.
- Should have working experience in Agile methodology and SDLC phases and should be able to deliver in sprints.
- Experience leading projects, meeting committed timelines, and communicating with customers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience putting emerging ideas into practice through rapid experimentation and prototyping.
- Experience as part of a project team & ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Experience in semiconductor Supply Chain Operations or Supply Chain Manufacturing
- Financial knowledge including cost, capital depreciation and ROI calculations.
- Data analytics and visualization experience (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Expert in mathematical optimization and decomposition of complex problems for custom solutions
- Project management or agile scrum experience
Lean, six sigma experience
Additional Information
Salary Range: $113,210 – $196,720
