Security Analyst – 17865Description Information Security Analysts design, implement, and monitor security systems to protect the company’s networks and data from cyber threats.

They help establish and maintain security standards, secure both online and on-premises infrastructure, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. Working cross-functionally, they monitor security tools for suspicious activity, investigate vulnerabilities, and collaborate with internal teams to strengthen defenses and prevent security incidents.

What you will be responsible for: Define, implement, and maintain robust security measures, policies, and controls to protect organizational systems and data. Monitor and manage network and system activity, access, and alerts to identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents. Conduct vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and both internal and external security audits to proactively assess potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

Participate in incident response and disaster recovery efforts, analyzing root causes and refining response and recovery plans to prevent future occurrences. Manage and monitor firewalls, perform network scanning, and support day-to-day security system administration to ensure optimal protection and performance. Maintain and update security systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.

Create and update documentation, reports, and analyses on security policy effectiveness, incident trends, and compliance activities. Develop and deliver training programs to promote security awareness and reinforce best practices among IT staff and all employees.

Coordinate and verify security plans with external vendors and partners, conducting joint assessments where necessary. Stay current with developments in the IT security industry, including new technologies, threat vectors, and best practices. Utilize SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools to automate workflows, improve efficiency, and streamline incident response.

Ensure adherence to the three pillars of cybersecurity — Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability — while performing all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications What you need to be successful in this role: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, or 1-3 years’ experience in the field or relatable field. Advanced training certifications may be advantageous.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and teaching skills. Good anticipation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The ability to remain current on the latest technology and best practices in information security.

Technical Knowledge: Microsoft Active Directory, UNIX, Linux, Encryption, Digital Certificates, SSL, VPN, IPSec, TCP/IP, DNS and web security architecture, Nmap, Rapid7, Splunk, and others are a plus.
