  • Supporting the adoption of our warehouse native replacement to Amplitude for large scale self serve analytics.
  • Data modelling and integration of various sources at Canva to support our vision for Project Heartbeat which offers a 360 view of our business metrics and how they are influenced.
  • Supporting the broader objectives of the PIE group by taking ownership of a significant problem, find a solution and see it through from the idea stage to production delivery
  • You’ll bring your knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to contribute to our vision and roadmap planning

You’re probably a match if

  • You have at least 5 years of recent experience building and managing large data platform environments in the cloud, AWS preferred.
  • You have experience with modern MPP cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • You can demonstrate advanced SQL and data modelling skills.
  • You are experienced with event-oriented data sets of large size and diverse schemas.
  • You have developed dashboards and reporting systems.
  • You are familiar with a wide set of data warehousing principles, including architecture, methodologies, schemas, performance/optimisation principles, and best practices.
  • You have strong competency following the ELT approach to the data integration process.
  • You are curious and self-driven to continuously learn new techniques and tools to extract value from data.
  • You have experience owning, tracking, and delivering goals, working both independently and in teams.

About the team

The Product Insights Enablement (PIE) group is on a mission to propel Canva’s growth by providing a unified platform to help teams ship confidently and measure outcomes. We are building a centralised home for all product insights so that teams act swiftly and decisively to make positive changes to the product.

We plan to tackle our mission in two steps. Step one is implementing a streamlined measurement process so that Canvanauts have the insight to decide if they should ship a change. Step two is to continuously feed insights to teams so they can make strategic decisions about what to focus on next.

In this role, you will be working across the entire PIE group but your home with be with Product Quality (PQ). The PQ team is working to develop new tools, frameworks, and processes to continuously report on the quality of Canva’s features. These tools will surface critical platform metrics in a single, consistent location so that all teams can make well informed, quicker data-driven strategic decisions.
