Job Description

MI
– Management information, reporting and data analyst. The role holder will be responsible to
provide core support to the business through the development and maintenance
of accurate management information and the analysis of available information.
To provide valuable insights for strategic decision making and accurate
information for day-to-day operational management.

Developing
reports and dashboards to support daily business decisions, drive growth, and
ensure data-driven accuracy. Leveraging predictive analytics to understand
client behavior and guide strategic actions for advancing the business.

  •  Develop new reports, report
    formats and standards based on identified user requirements for the
    business
  • Analyze derived information to
    create value add understanding of insights and opportunities presented
    by the data set
  • Prepare customized reports based
    on identified requirements from the business at large
  • Develop regular performance
    reports particularly related to needs of the business various systems to
    aid performance measurement and management.
  • Continuously identify
    opportunities to automate reports and to eliminate duplicate and manual
    report production
  • Identify new sources of data via
    requirements gathering and investigation
  • Maintain all existing reports by
    ensuring relevance for decision making and sound data governance
    practice
  • Engage with team members both
    daily and through standard team meetings.
  • Engage with stakeholders through
    formal and informal meetings to be fully involved in the development
    process and delivery of MI reporting solutions
  • Source information from different
    data warehouses, data marts, manual systems and online systems based on
    knowledge of appropriate data sources given the business requirement
  • Collect and package data into
    usable and user-friendly management information for the relevant teams
    and stakeholders in the business

Requirements

·    B degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer
Studies, or similar with a focus on either systems or databases or equivalent
NQF level 7 qualification or higher

·    Two (2) years’ experience in management information role

·    Three (3) years’ experience with the use of analytical
tools such as Hadoop, SAS or MS SQL with Power BI being the most important.

·    Three (3) years’ experience in requirements gathering and
documentation

·    Knowledge and exposure to data warehouse design and
business intelligence applications and information products.

·    An understanding of change management and its importance
in business process transformation

·    Experience in a multi project environment

Power
BI is a must have (3 years experience)

Python

·    SQL ( Postgres, MS SQL )

·    Qlikview
