As an Amazon Senior Business Intelligence Engineer you will be working in one of the world’s largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of datasets at scale. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and to build data sets that answer those questions. You should excel at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing applications. You should be able to work with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing reporting solutions. Above all you should be passionate about bringing large datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.

Key job responsibilities
– Design automated solutions for recurrent reporting (daily/weekly/monthly).
– Design automated processes for in-depth analysis.
– Design automated data control processes.
– Collaborate with the software development teams to build solutions.
– Learn, publish, analyze and improve management information dashboards, operational business metrics decks and key performance indicators.
– Improve tools and processes, scale existing solutions, and create new solutions as required based on stakeholder needs.
– Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting efforts.
– Perform monthly variance analysis and identify opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

– 5+ years of SQL experience
– 5+ years of professional or military experience
– Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
– Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
– Experience with AWS technologies
– Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
– Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
– Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
