Senior Cloud Data Architect
Oerlikon is embarking on an ambitious data-driven journey, with a brand-new cloud data platform to be built at the heart of this transformation as enabler for Analytics, AI and digitalization in general. Data Architecture will play a key role on this journey, ensuring that our data assets are well designed and of highest quality.
In this context we are we are looking for you as Senior Cloud Data Architect to define and implement our new MS Azure/Fabric based Data Platform from scratch.
As Senior Cloud Data Architect you play a pivotal role in how we make the most of our data assets. You will be ensuring that the company’s data products are well designed, maintained and utilized effectively, securely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. To achieve this, you will be responsible for developing, providing and enforcing a Data DevSecOps framework and guidelines. Further you will enable data engineers inside and outside of the IT organization to create own data products and business users to make the most out of the available data.
The position is located in Brugherio (MB).
Your Responsibilities

Development and maintenance of guidelines for creation of data products

Development and maintenance of design templates for data products
- Define and apply DevOps principles and processes for the data platform, incl. CI/CD using GitHub
- Instruct and coach data engineers and other stakeholders in development of data products
- Review solutions of other developers and support those in their designs
- Contribute to complex developments if necessary
- Observe tech providers’ development of environments for cloud data platforms (esp. Microsoft universe) and ensure that the data platform architecture is up to date, following latest and best principles
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar. Postgraduate studies appreciated
- Proven track record of working in a similar role for at least 3 years
- 10+ years of work experience in roles related to data management and analytics (data architect, data engineer and similar)
- Proficiency in data modeling methodologies and tools and experience in designing entity-relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams
- Experience with cloud data platform solutions including data storage, integration tools and frameworks, data management and data governance products.
- Understanding of general cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Knowledge and practical experience with DevOps principles and tools, and how to apply them in a data management/analytics environment. This includes knowledge of CI/CD on Azure and GitHub.
- Knowledge of data security principles, privacy laws (like GDPR), and data governance frameworks.
- Knowledge and practical experience with project management and agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Safe)
- Proficiency in English (C1 or higher)
- Experienced in multinational and geographically distributed work environments
- Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Factory and/or Fabric
