We are seeking a skilled and versatile Data Governance Platform Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance applications. Your expertise in Python, Data Governance Tooling (Collibra), micro-services, DevOps, cloud platforms, and Java will be key in driving our projects to success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring the development and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.

 

Responsibilities – How can you make a lasting impact in a rapidly changing world?

  • Develop and maintain data governance platforms (Collibra), APIs, and databases to support client projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions and ensure seamless integration between data governance tooling and data platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, etc.
  • Implement scalable and efficient code in languages such as Java, .NET, or Python, while adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, software design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges, ensuring high-quality and reliable software deliverables.

 

Job requirements – Where do you start if you want to change the world?

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a code development, including hands-on coding and development in Java/Python and a data governance tool (Collibra)
  • Proficiency in database management systems, such as SQL or NoSQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), software testing methodologies, and agile development processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex technology challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot / Flask).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Knowledge of Datawarehouse
  • Certified Data Management Professional (e.g. DAMA or DCAM)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
