Senior Data Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Senior Analyst collaborates with business partners and stakeholders to understand strategies and priorities, connecting these goals with underlying data to deliver self-service tools for insight-driven analysis. This role involves developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, writing complex SQL queries, and building robust data models and visualizations in PowerBI to support decision-making and deliver business insights.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders across multiple products, business areas, or organizational units to understand primary strategies, objectives, and priorities; connect these goals with underlying data and deliver self-service tools to enable insight-driven analysis.
  • Participate in collaborative, cross-functional initiatives and projects; offer thought leadership on data requirements and the scope of analysis necessary to support decision-making and deliver business insights.
  • Provide business requirements and thought leadership to peer teams for developing and maintaining ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into on-premises or cloud-based data lakes, tables/views, or data warehouses.
  • Write complex SQL queries to merge, blend, and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Clean and prepare data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Build consolidated tables and views that support data analytics and reporting needs.
  • Develop robust data models in PowerBI to visualize and interpret data effectively.
  • Collaborate with business/data analysts, data scientists, internal customers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Optimize data model performance and ensure data integrity.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices related to data management and analysis.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain various dashboards and reports in PowerBI, supporting multiple client groups.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum

  • BA/BS degree in a related discipline (i.e., Business Intelligence & Analytics, Information Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) with 4 years of experience in a related field (e.g., reporting, statistics, data modeling, data analytics, data visualization, data interpretation); or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Skilled to advanced knowledge in building interactive dashboards in PowerBI and/or Tableau/ (PowerBI Strongly Preferred).
  • Proven experience in developing robust data models in PowerBI to enable data visualization and effective interpretation of data.
  • Experience in data cleansing and preparation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Advanced SQL skills, specifically with Oracle and PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement, and maintain various dashboards and reports, supporting multiple client groups.
  • Successful candidates must know how to intuitively assimilate, manipulate, and visualize large quantities of data in a visually appealing and easily consumable manner.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-organizational team environment, collaborating with business leads on key analytical deliverables.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills with a proven history of influencing outcomes and gaining alignment.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively, and proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic, and virtual environment.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in a related discipline.
  • 8 years successful experience developing advanced analytics solutions (e.g. predictive models, anomaly detection models, correlation models, etc.
  • Prior experience with data analytics in a contact center environment, specifically working with voice, chat, & digital data.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Big Data)
  • Prior operations and analytics experience with Cox Communications
