Job Description

Our Company

We’re Hitachi Vantara, the data foundation trusted by the world’s innovators. Our resilient, high-performance data infrastructure means that customers – from banks to theme parks – can focus on achieving the incredible with data.

If you’ve seen the Las Vegas Sphere, you’ve seen just one example of how we empower businesses to automate, optimize, innovate – and wow their customers. Right now, we’re laying the foundation for our next wave of growth.  We’re looking for people who love being part of a diverse, global team – and who get excited about making a real-world impact with data.

Meet our Team

In the Global Supply Chain Group, customer experience is our priority, and our decisions and actions revolve around benefiting the customer, aiming to empower individuals in both life and business through data. We provide stable, secure services and aim to be the reliable, accurate, and fast “single source of the truth” for internal end users.

The Role

Customer Experience is at the heart of everything we do in the Global Supply Chain Group. Each decision we take, each action we do, it should all benefit the Customer Experience. Our purpose is to empower people to stay one step ahead in life and in business. If you want to work at a place with lots of freedom to innovate, where we are committed to deliver stable and secure services to end users, and where we have a ‘no nonsense’ getting-things done mentality, please read on! As a Sr Data Engineer, you will further develop and maintain our data platform, develop the architecture of this platform and create new architecture for incoming projects for the Global Supply Chain Group. This is a highly cross-functional role. Your work will span long and short-range demand planning, supply planning, transportation, inventory, orders and fulfilment for B2B and the automation of important metrics that monitor our business, all to improve the Customer Experience.

Without your work, data sits idle and useless in a database or even worse: in excel sheets in emails. You are the one combining these sources in real-time distributed systems in ways that can handle large amounts of data in real-time.

Your passion is to work with the latest and greatest technologies that make working with large amounts of Supply Chain data easy. You are proactive in keeping yourself up-to-date with what’s going on in software and data engineering today, and are always searching for ways to discover new technologies. You enjoy laying the architectural foundations for the things you are working on. You combine both thinking of the future and a hands-on, right-now attitude. You will work in a team with highly skilled people and enjoy a creative atmosphere where trying new things out is encouraged.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven professional experience as a Data Engineer (3+ years).
  • Exceptional expertise in SQL.
  • Very strong expertise in and understanding of your favorite ETL tooling.
  • Experience or familiarity with Pentaho ETL is a bonus.
  • Proven, daily professional experience with any programming language beyond SQL.
  • Expertise with data systems design and the considerations involved when it relates to data architecture and the consumers of your data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

What you may expect

You will be part of the Global Supply Chain Group, a notoriously high-performance team. Our values and beliefs are to value people, integrity and trust, individual development, collaboration, accountability and empowerment. We hire people who believe in these values. As a result, you will work on innovative projects within Hitachi Vantara.

In addition, we offer:

• Challenging and entrepreneurial positions within a globally operating, venturous company with a strong product portfolio and market position, with extreme ambitions;
• Competitive salary compensation with incentive plan and great benefits;
• Great training and education possibilities.
• International atmosphere and working in an area which is of great importance to the strategy of the Global Supply Chain Group;
• A-full time position (40-hour week);
• Strong, focused, passioned, highly skilled and talented team

We are an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
