The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join us at Poppulo. This as an opportunity to develop core data services that are used by our product engineers to deliver industry-leading reports and insights to our customers, at scale.

Key Responsibilities 

You will work with an established analytics & reporting team and other stakeholders to design and build solutions using your experience of ingestion pipelines, ETL and data storage/retrieval. You will pair with other Engineering teams to understand their goals and meet their data needs. You will partner with Architecture to design robust, scalable solutions that are consistent across the platform. You will work with our Data Science and AI experts to deliver data to our newest models and help to evolve them into new product features.  

Must haves: 

  • 6+ years of development experience with data pipelines, ETL, data lakes and data warehousing, with a variety of datasets.
  • Experience with AWS data services – S3, Kinesis, Glue, Redshift
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Javascript or Typescript
  • Strong command of SQL.
  • Experience with monitoring performance, data quality and reliability of service
  • Collaborative and supportive attitude, with a track record of working closely with project stakeholders.
  • History of continually learning and adapting to the latest trends and technology.

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience with data analytics and ML.
  • Experience of an Agile development environment, ideally in a SAAS environment.
  • Experience of working with java and GQL.
  • The ability to deploy changes using CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab)
