Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 – $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Job Description
Cox Automotive is seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer. In this role you will develop, implement, and maintain data solutions that impact all of Cox Automotive. The ideal candidate will be skilled in all aspects of data engineering and analytics, including data pipeline generation, data discovery, definition alignment, mapping, profiling, and auditing.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with data architecture, data analysts, visualization developers, other data engineers, and key business stakeholders to develop and maintain data assets within a cloud-computing environment which support major Cox Automotive initiatives.
- Employ techniques to improve data dependability and quality, and reduce manual effort through automation.
- Investigate, communicate, and drive to resolution of data integrity issues, which may impact business performance.
- Develop and maintain large data assets within a cloud-computing environment by analyzing data from internal and external sources, and make newly created data assets available across Cox Automotive.
- Act as a data consultant to business and technical stakeholders to advise them at the ideation stage when solving for business opportunities.
- Collaborate within a team of data engineers and analysts on design, code reviews, implementation, delivery estimates, and production support.
- Ensure data follows all information privacy and protection policies.
- Support other team members within an Agile environment to ensure committed deliverables are met.
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of data engineering experience within a cloud-computing environment, such as Snowflake or AWS
- Expert SQL skills with the ability to build complex high-performing data assets
- Three or more years of Python programming experience
- Five or more years of experience working in an Agile environment
- Three or more years of experience in data mining, profiling, and auditing
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts
- Experience mentoring junior data engineers
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years’ experience in a related field.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with back-end Salesforce data
- AWS Certified Data Engineer
- SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer or Data Analyst Certification
