Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build and optimize our data and analytics systems.

About the Customer

The client is the largest Google digital consulting agency in Europe, operating only in the Google cloud. 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of background in a Data Engineer or similar role
  • Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, etc.)
  • Advanced SQL skills and query optimization experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and experience building them in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of big data concepts and distributed systems
  • Ability to work with large data volumes, ensuring data integrity and quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of additional data tools like Apache Airflow Spark
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure automation
  • Understanding of data security and privacy practices in the cloud

Upper-Intermediate

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure, including creating and optimizing ETL/ELT processes on GCP
  • Work extensively with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, etc.) to process and analyze large data sets
  • Optimize database performance and create efficient SQL queries
  • Utilize Python for scripting and automation of processes
  • Create and maintain data models, ensuring their performance, reliability, and security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs
  • Set up and manage data monitoring and logging to ensure high availability and reliability of the system
  • Work with large data sets, performing analysis and processing for effective analytics solutions
