Mō te tūranga – About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer in our Technology Wholesale Business, you’ll play a key role in helping to provide operational and platform support of our strategic data services as part of our move into a more modern data stack for the benefits of our customers. This role is responsible for the design, development and quality of the infrastructure solutions – both hardware and software and Infrastructure as Code development.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? – What will your day look like

This role is responsible for:

 

  • Providing timely operational support for specific systems which will include after-hours oncall support of production systems using Bank standard change and incident management tools.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of technical solutions that support customer resolution projects (including develop, test and implement). 
  • Providing full transparency of status throughout delivery to all key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring quality control and data governance processes are followed.
  • Providing accurate estimates of the end-to-end resource required for developing or maintaining code
  • Aligning and adhering with ANZ Group IT strategy, governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Good workiging experience with Python development experience across a broad technology stack (development and analysis skills)
  • Proven experience in Data processing (ETL/ELT, SQL, data validation and transformation)
  • Proven experience Proven experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Spark pipelines and platform services.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with people at different levels            
  • Broad knowledge of Financial Service products and processes
  • Cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, REST APIs, S3, Spark)
