As part of this evolution, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Digital and Transformation team In North Sydney for permanent role. About the role

In this role, you will design, build and deploy data architectures and pipelines, deliver robust, reliable and near real-time data to business stakeholders to enable insights and Business Intelligence services.  You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions meet the growing needs of our business. You’ll be part of a geographically diverse team, contributing to key initiatives like Profitable Volume Growth and Customer First Workstreams. Some of the key areas you will be responsible for include:

Operational

  • Designing and implementing ETL processes
  • Managing data warehousing solutions
  • Exposing and deploying machine learning models to production
  • Ensuring data quality and consistency across various sources
  • Ensuring reliability and uptime of systems

Reporting Solutions

Manage and achieve reporting solution outcomes through:

  • Close alignment to business stakeholders
  • Identify gaps in the current EDW and Data Models and drive better data quality data & collection
  • Development, delivery and support of Power Bi Reports, ad-hoc Data Extracts, Data Models and Data Warehouse enhancements
  • Provide estimates and Agile Sizing for Report and Data development
  • Test plan preparation and ensuring testing is successfully executed.
  • Providing end-user support, assistance, and training regarding Power Bi Report development

Business Support:

  • Investigate and resolve Data, Reporting and Back-end ETL related issues. Respond to incidents in line with SLAs and ITIL processes
  • Troubleshoot issues and identify modifications needed in existing Reporting to meet changing user requirements.
  • Ensure solutions are comprehensively documented, process deliverables are approved by appropriate business and IT stakeholders, and appropriate documentation is readily available.
  • Practice Lean-Agile values and ways of working, participating and contributing in Agile events and rituals
  • Keep business community appropriately informed and collaborate with stakeholders and team members to meet strict delivery deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers, peer groups and key internal stakeholders.

 

About you

Our ideal candidate will have at least 10 years experience, a bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline and relevant Microsoft certifications.

The role required the following skills:

  • Azure Data Lake
  • SQL server
  • Azure Synapse
  • Power BI data sets
  • SSIS reporting or Data Factory
  • Data pipelines and streaming
  • Perform Operational Reporting and Commercial Documents – development, testing, and release
  • Experience working with D365 ERP CRM reporting
  • Debugging and troubleshoot issues related to Data Lake, Azure Synapsis
  • Experience in Data warehouse management and ETL operation
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Azure DevOps – management, pipeline, and release management knowledge
  • Experience with BI analytical toolsets.
  • Experience with ERP / CRM especially Dynamics 365
  • SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures etc.
  • Azure SQL Database
  • Azure table storage
  • Data base administration knowledge on Azure Synapsis, data lake, ADF

Bonus Skills

  • SAFe Agile and Scrum
  • Experience in report layout developments
  • Previous experience working with geographically diverse teams.
