At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.​

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join our team, focusing on building our next-generation Data Integration Platform. This platform serves as a bridge between eCommerce systems and GoDaddy’s Data Platform. This role is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to developing a secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and globally efficient microservices-based platform. This platform, deployed on AWS, utilises the newest technology stack. In addition to these responsibilities, the role involves supporting and maintaining our legacy stack built with Microsoft technologies.

A key part of this role will be working with various database technologies, including relational and non-relational databases in AWS and Microsoft SQL Server. What you’ll get to do…

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines
  • Develop and optimise data models to support business processes
  • Implement data storage solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and or AWS database services
  • Integrate complex datasets using REST APIs and other data ingestion techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through detailed testing and validation
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers

Your experience should include…

  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Expertise in Microsoft technologies and programming languages such as C# and Python
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, particularly in data-related offerings
  • Proficiency in REST API development and integration
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and familiarity with other AWS relational and non-relational databases
  • Good English skills – both verbal and written

You might also have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications in Microsoft and AWS technologies
  • Microsoft and AWS technologies
  • Experience with big data tools and frameworks
  • Familiarity with data visualisation and reporting tools
