Senior Data Engineer, GCP

As a Senior Data & AI Cloud Engineer at Revolgy , you will be a key leader in designing and executing complex data platform migrations from legacy cloud environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will leverage your deep expertise in data engineering, complex migration strategies, and modern cloud data platforms to help our enterprise customers transform their data architecture. This is an excellent opportunity to lead challenging, high-impact projects and act as a senior technical authority within a dynamic and supportive team.

What Will You Do?

• Design and Execute Migration Strategy: Lead the design and implementation of the end-to-end data migration strategy, with a sharp focus on BI integration (e.g., AWS Quicksight to BigQuery) and robust pipeline testing.
• Refactor Legacy Pipelines: Architect and lead the refactoring of complex Spark/PySpark transformation logic to GCP-native services, evaluating and implementing the best-fit solution (e.g., Dataproc Serverless, Dataflow, or BigQuery-native SQL).
• Migrate Data Models: Oversee the migration of a large-scale data warehouse, including 60+ interdependent DBT models, ensuring logical and functional parity.
• Ensure Data Integrity: Design and implement a comprehensive data validation framework to ensure data quality and accuracy between source (Databricks) and target (BigQuery) systems.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure for the data platform using Terraform for GCP resource provisioning.
• Automate & Deploy: Build and manage automated testing and deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Mentor & Support: Act as a senior technical guide, supporting and mentoring medior colleagues in tasks such as running comparative queries, testing DBT models, and documenting validation results.
• Drive Technical Decisions: Contribute to strategic decisions during PoC phases, providing expert input on the trade-offs between different architectural approaches (e.g., lift-and-shift vs. full-native refactoring).

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a seasoned data engineer. You have a strong track record of delivering complex, enterprise-scale data platform migrations from on-premise or other cloud environments (especially AWS) to GCP .
• 3+ years of deep, hands-on experience with the core GCP data stack, including BigQuery , Dataflow/Apache Beam , Cloud Composer , Vertex AI , and DataPlex .
• Migration Experience: Proven, practical experience migrating data platforms from Databricks/Spark to GCP native services.
• Data Transformation: Expert-level proficiency in DBT (dbt-core, dbt-bigquery) , ideally with experience migrating 50+ complex, interdependent models.
• Programming: Advanced skills in Python (including pandas, numpy) and SQL (advanced queries, optimization). You must be comfortable converting PySpark logic to Dataflow/Beam.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Strong, hands-on experience with Terraform for GCP and building automated GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Docker/containerization is required.
• Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and/or Cloud Composer .
