Senior Data Engineer-Manager-State Street Global Advisors

Job description: 

This role will be part IT team at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), working in our Development team.

Key responsibilities: 

Software Development:

Demonstrate full stack expertise and architectural understanding to create robust and user-friendly solutions.

Specialize in seamless integration of various technologies to ensure cohesive application development.

Ability to adapt to agile methodologies, quick self-learner.

Database management:

Demonstrate profound understanding of relational databases.

Build and manage well-functioning databases.

Implement design principles for efficient data storage and retrieval

Testing and Troubleshooting:

Ensure software responsiveness and efficiency.

Debug and fix coding issues

Ownership and Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate and create scalable software solutions.

Develop oneself into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Technical & Domain areas.

A self-starter with excellent organizational, time and relationship management skills.

Able to lead projects with minimal guidance and should show complete ownership of deliverables.

Delivery and Documentation:

Familiar with CI/CD practice and tools.

Deliver high quality deliverables with proper testing requirements.

Able to review existing processes/procedures and suggest improvements.

Prepare technical and functional documents as appropriate.

Essential Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree is a requirement; Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
8+ years of development experience in  technology and/or data functions in financial services or consulting industry.
Hands on experience with establishing data strategies and data transformation implementations with in a fast paced ,dynamically growing sector in the industry.
Hands on development in Python, PL/SQL, SQL, Shell Scripting, Tableau, Alteryx, AutoSys.
Hands on experience working in cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Spark based data engineering solutions.
Hands on experience in one of the ETL tools.
Demonstrate architectural understanding and problem solving abilities to design/build complex data oriented solutions.
Demonstrate experience in CI/CD tools such as Artifactory, Jenkins, Bitbucket etc.
