Accertify is growing, and we are looking to add a Senior Data Engineer to our global fraud-fighting team.

How will you make an impact in this role?
The Senior Data Engineer will work within Accertify’s Product Development organization and be responsible for developing data sources and compilation processes to support reporting and analytics features.  They will work as an individual contributor role in a cross-functional capacity alongside members of Accertify technical and business teams, including Product Management, Development, Big Data, Decision Sciences, Architecture, and client-facing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, and document data compilation and aggregate processes to make large-scale data sources available to user-facing BI features
  • Contribute to validation and monitoring processes to ensure the integrity of data compilations and code
  • Partner with Client Performance Analytics and Product Management colleagues to design efficient and resilient data sources that meet business needs
  • Partner with Data Design and Big Data colleagues to optimize compilation processes and data availability across multiple data centers
  • Partner with Product Development to incorporate data sources into user-facing product features
  • With Data Governance and client-facing business teams, create processes to identify and address data definition and mapping issues
  • Apply Development best practices to code review and change management processes
  • Other ad-hoc data sourcing or analytic responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum four years of applied coding experience in software development or Big Data architecture
  • Fluency in one or more of the following coding languages and platforms: Python, PySpark, SQL, Scala, Java, Spark, Flink, Drill (PySpark experience highly preferred)
  • Experience with version control procedures and software (Gitlab)
  • Familiarity with data compilation concepts and best practices; experience building efficient aggregation processes and highly performant data sources
  • Applied experience in process optimization and troubleshooting complex data relationships
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with internal departments and stakeholders to deliver highly detailed technical information
  • Ability to maintain resiliency and handle ambiguity in a fast-paced, heavily customized environment with high-profile, strategic enterprise clients
  • Must be collaborative, motivated, creative, and results-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Certifications in the languages or platforms listed above or in related areas
  • Experience integrating Big Data and aggregate sources into user-facing BI objects; preferred experience with Tableau or similar software
  • Experience in the Fraud or Risk Detection industry
  • Knowledge of and experience with online payment processors, billing service providers, and tools/platforms/resources used to combat online fraud
  • Experience with Accertify Interceptas and Account Protection products and technical infrastructure
  • Potential salary range: $75,000-150K. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 
  • This role is eligible for remote US-based (work-from-home) locations. Chicago-based candidates would work in a hybrid capacity from the Accertify HQ located in Itasca, IL
