About the job

The Data Foundations and AI Solutions Engineering team supports AI/ML efforts in customer facing interfaces and internal troubleshooting tools.  We look to simplify the resolution of issues through improved content, search, diagnostics, and support workflow.

 

We are seeking a technically minded, detail oriented, and creative Data Scientist focused on natural language processing, machine learning & data analytics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about collaborating with subject matter experts, and software engineers to create and maintain ML models, both predictive and generative, and applications that improve the customer experience when facing issues with Red Hat products.

 

The successful candidate will have a track record of strong technical skills, exposure to various ML frameworks, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.  Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with experimentation, objective validation, and a fast, iterative approach to development.

What you will do

The work entails collaborating with highly skilled engineers and program/product managers to help create, maintain, and evolve automation and AI solutions for the Experience Engineering (XE) organization at Red Hat.

 

  • Designing, building, and implementing advanced analytical models using machine learning, deep learning, and statistical techniques to extract insights from complex data sets.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Developing and implementing data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses and validate assumptions.
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers to optimize data pipelines and improve data quality.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for analytical models, data pipelines, and insights.
  • Staying up-to-date on emerging trends in data science, machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, and related fields.
  • Collaborating with Machine Learning Engineers to deploy models into production environments.
  • Communicating findings effectively to stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and interactive dashboards.

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Math, Computational Linguistics, or other related fields. 
  • 3+ years working in Data Science, creating and maintaining ML solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, and/or other relevant languages.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, or similar.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills, including proficiency with probability theory, linear algebra, optimization, and statistics.
  • Experience with NLP python libraries and usage.
  • Comfortable working with a small team in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2 and S3 storage is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux and OpenShift is a plus.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau is a plus.

  • Ability to develop clear and impactful visualizations to communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well with software developers to create and deploy ML based applications.
  • Communication skills and experience in interacting with cross functional business and engineering teams.
  • Excellent English communication, presentation, and writing skills.
