The primary focus of this role is to define and measure our search functionality and evaluate the effectiveness of A/B tests related to search performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and data scientists, to improve the search experience and drive business outcomes through data-driven decisions.
Position Details
– Analyze user search behavior, engagement patterns, and search intent to identify areas for improvement.
– Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the impact of changes in search algorithms and features.
– Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the success of search experiments.
– Interpret test results, provide actionable insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
– Design and develop scalable pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of data; balance data service performance and infrastructure cost.
– Optimize data application performance and scalability through efficient coding practices and system architecture design.
– Perform deep-dive to understand search performance and user interaction.
– Create dashboards and reports to track search metrics and A/B test results.
– Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and concise reports.
Mandatory Qualifications:
– 3+ years of experience in data science or a related field, preferably in ecommerce.
– Experience with end-to-end A/B testing and experimental design.
– Solid knowledge of statistics and applied econometrics.
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
– Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
– Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data visualization tools.
– Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Desired Qualifications:
– Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
– Experience with Spark or similar distributed data processing frameworks.
– Strong understanding of A/B testing, search algorithms, and information retrieval techniques.
– Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
– Proven track record of driving business outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
