Job Description

Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect to collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver business value and improved outcomes by leading business, integration and technology architecture, ensure alignment with IT strategy and business objectives and maintain a global view to ensure IT projects deliver both functional and enterprise value and are woven seamlessly into the overall business and technology landscape. Specific duties include: facilitate business and IT alignment and drive the business towards its targeted outcomes by interpreting business challenges, and leading business and IT capability analyses to understand current state, detect critical gaps and opportunities, and recommend architectural solutions; collaborate across organizational boundaries to drive trade-off discussions, facilitate informed decision making and risk anticipation, and drive mitigation via well-researched and robust IT solutions; maintain alignment, integration, and coordination of architecture activities across different programs, projects and products as they evolve over time; lead PoC/PoT of new technology solutions to evaluate solutions that are fit-for-purpose and aligned to IT strategy; work closely with IT partners and business to define end-to-end Solution Architecture using system engineering concepts and data integration patterns across diverse cloud platforms and Vendor solutions; drive business and IT adoption of technology solutions; develop and apply minimal viable architectures, which can include a set of standards, reference architecture patterns, principles, and guardrails; evaluate and recommend COTS software solutions to support business process including integration with proprietary/legacy systems; and collaborate with infrastructure teams, Group EA team and Security team to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is vital to modify the enterprise architecture. Option to work remotely 40% of the time.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Architect, Technical Architect, IT Business Architect, Technical Specialist, or similar position leading business, integration and technology architecture towards designing and implementing enterprise-level technology solutions. Must have 5 years of experience working with each of the following: defining Business Capabilities and process and data flows highlighting technology gaps and opportunities for improvement; Solution Architecture engaging with business stakeholders, understanding/eliciting business requirements, and architecting the solution landscape ensuring alignment with core architecture principles and best practices in collaboration with Security, Compliance and legal guidelines; enterprise integration patterns, API management, microservices based solutions, system interoperability, and data architecture; and cloud platform (AWS or Azure) and leveraging cloud native services. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $170,000.
