The Finance Data and Reporting team is primarily responsible for developing reporting systems within a cross-functional environment that align with Group reporting requirements, ensuring their maintenance and accuracy. Our team collects actuals posted in multiple source systems into the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW), which is then utilized by downstream reporting systems. We also manage an in-house developed revenue and billing forecasting system, as well as a subscription revenue reporting system
As a key member of the Finance Data and Reporting team, you will support the development of finance reporting systems within a cross-functional environment. You will be a subject matter expert in the end-to-end Campaign to Cash (C2C) process, collaborating with various departments to ensure the C2C process aligns with strategic objectives.
Your role involves developing expertise in finance data systems, participating in the design and deployment of supporting systems, and leading or assisting with system upgrades. You will address data gaps, promote process and data consistency, and support data discovery and migration activities.
The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in finance systems, particularly Zuora or Oracle Fusion, and possesses strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Responsibilities & Duties
Finance Reporting Systems development within Cross Functional environment.
- Develop expertise in the C2C (Campaign to Cash) process, including lead management, opportunity management, contract lifecycle management, order lifecycle management, revenue recognition, and invoice-to-cash activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from Product Strategy, Sales, Legal, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Licensing to align the evolution of the C2C process with Finance and Leadership’s strategic objectives.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of finance data systems under the team’s management, such as the Finance Data Warehouse (P&L and Balance Sheet) cubes, Revenue and Billings Intelligence, and Contract Intelligence tools.
- Contribute to the design, deployment, and knowledge-sharing of systems supporting the C2C process, including Salesforce, DocuSign CLM, ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, NAV, and SAP), Zuora, and in-house licensing request systems.
- Lead or support the enhancement and development of systems affecting Finance, overseeing activities such as requirements gathering, system evaluation, implementation, data migration, reconciliation, and user training.
- Build specialized expertise in at least one key supporting system: Oracle Fusion or Zuora Revenue/Billings.
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Group FP&A, Group Finance, and IT teams to ensure effective process integration and system development.
Finance Data
- Develop proficiency in group reporting structures to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
- As the business evolves and reporting metrics change, ensure that all data gaps are identified and assessed.
- Proactively address data discrepancies and gaps in systems managed by the Finance Data and Reporting Team, implementing system or process changes in compliance with AVEVA’s change management policies.
- Foster process and data consistency by collaborating with Shared Services, Revenue, Accounting, FP&A, and Group Accounting teams.
- Monitor data and processes across the Group, challenge inconsistencies, and recommend improvements through Global Process Owners (GPO) to support best practices.
- Participate in data discovery and migration activities during mergers and acquisitions, develop data validation and reconciliation methodologies, and provide support for other related tasks as needed.
Knowledge and experience required
- Ideally a qualified accountant with experience in a global organization; candidates with deep understanding of the C2C process through extensive experience in Finance or business systems roles will also be considered.
- Expertise in Zuora, Oracle Fusion Applications or similar, with a solid understanding of both technical structure and functionality
- Experience with finance systems or finance reporting systems implementations, data migrations, and reconciliations.
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite, together with an understanding of Database/Datawarehouse technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain an overview.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines effectively under pressure.
- Ability to influence staff and introduce change sensitively, particularly where there is no direct reporting line.
- Ability to work independently and deliver against requirements with minimal supervision.
- A team player who can collaborate closely with various business disciplines.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality output on time.
- Some travel to local offices may be required due to close liaison with operational users.
