Roche Digital Pathology empowers precision diagnosis in support of better, more personalized healthcare. By combining innovative hardware, software and image analysis algorithms, the Roche Digital Pathology solution offers an end-to-end experience to our customers and users. Our Roche Digital Pathology solution starts with our reliable and high quality VENTANA slide scanners that provide high-resolution images that pathology labs can trust. Our VENTANA slide scanners are unique because they produce high quality scan and provide consistent, reproducible images with a low rescan rate. The scanners also come with built-in calibration and use a tray-based system which eliminates slide-handling errors and improves reliability. 

The Opportunity:

  • You will work with a highly collaborative team of imaging scientists and software developers to solve image and data analysis problems in the field of Digital Pathology. 

  • You will contribute to algorithm development activities for technology assessment, internal project collaborations, and commercial medical devices. Implements technology in the fields of image processing, machine learning, pattern recognition and data mining.

  •  You will keep up-to-date with technology advances and job training requirements in the medical device industry.

  •  You will identify and document Intellectual Property opportunities for technology and applications.

  •  You will present results to project partners, collaboration partners within the Roche group, customers, and at scientific conferences.
     

Who you are:   

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • You have four years of experience in a related field; two years if with a Master’s Degree.

  • You are proficient in Matlab, C++ or Python

  • You have a good understanding of scientific principles; good analytical and mathematical skills.

  • You have working knowledge and theoretical understanding of image analysis, pattern recognition, machine learning, computer vision, and data mining methods.
    Extensive experience with commonly used Deep Learning models and frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Fastai, TensorFlow)

  • You have an understanding and following of software engineering practices for prototyping and commercial product development languages.

 

Preferred:  

  • You have a Master’s Degree 

  • You have data analysis experience

  • You have experience working with Medical devices

  • You have experience working with Digital Pathology tools or Software

  • You have digital pathology experience

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara, CA is 140,400.00 – 260,800.00  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
