We are on the hunt for a Senior Insights Analyst. As a Senior Insights Analyst you will be taking the lead in partnering with key business functions whilst analysing and interpreting complex data to identify, measure and achieve positive value across BizCover’s value chain.
This will involve touching all the core functions, whether its partnering with marketing to optimize campaigns and target audiences, with product teams to find new markets and understand our insurers’ potential, or with the broker teams to find interesting ways to engage insurance experts, and more!

BizAnalytics is a trusted internal brand, and a trusted team. We’re part of the wider Innovation and Growth team, and are jointly responsible for growth, and um.. innovation! Primarily, we’re about improving customer journeys at all stages of the insurance lifecycle, bringing a customer and product lens to BizCover’s decision making, to grow at scale in our Australian, and overseas, businesses.
We span the whole value chain, and a complete set of data skills, and drive value through insights, driving change, enabling better management decisions, and automating decisions with AI (and Machine Learning) live into our business.
Requirements
Day to Day responsibilities:
- Driving BizCover with data.
- Leading and managing our team’s relationship with one of the key business areas responsible for growth and conducting analytical reviews of business performance or growth opportunities.
- Manage the design and implementation of the operational analytics framework in collaboration with other data analysts, Marketing, Product and Sales teams.
- Telling visual stories with data, that really explain the opportunity and the challenges, shaping narratives and presenting data visualizations, bringing senior leadership on the analytical journey.
- Augmenting our business processes, or forming new ones, with data at the Centre of decision making.
- Interpreting data using analytical and statistical techniques and deriving impactful insights based on trends and patterns.
- Working with our analytics engineers to create or generate the right data for the right decisions and processes.
- Collaborating on initiatives which span our business, with everyone from Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product, Digital, Tech, pretty much the whole company!
What do I need to be successful? (technical and inter-personal):
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, or 5+ years of relevant work experience in one of the following: Insurance industry, Digital Marketing, or Financial Services, working on commercial outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Finance/Actuarial, Psychology, or other statistics-heavy field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organise and analyse significant amounts of data accurately.
- Fluency in communicating data insights (Hypotheses, Methods, Results & Actions) through visual tools and presentations and confidence presenting results to senior management.
- A strong documentation ethic and strong business writing skills.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Hands on SQL and Python experience
- Experience with some kind of data visualisation tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or are a whizz with Excel
Bonus points if you have any of:
- Practical experience with Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform and campaign automation.
- Demonstrated experience with experimental design, analysis, and reporting in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working with Insurance product underwriting and rating data sets.
