We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist with expertise in advanced statistical modeling and a proven track record of delivering impactful analytic insights & solutions. The primary goal is to analyze healthcare data (experience surveys, clinical outcomes, and safety metrics) and to generate industry insights, develop new data analytics products, and support consulting engagements. An ideal candidate for this job would have some experience with healthcare providers or health plans, but that is not required. The role requires a high capacity for autonomy and the ability to creatively apply data sciences techniques to novel problems.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead complex data science projects from inception to deployment, ensuring impactful outcomes.

  • Integrate large datasets across multiple sources, using advanced data cleaning, imputation, and validation techniques.
  • Apply advanced statistical inference and mathematical modeling techniques to solve diverse problems.
  • Develop, test, and optimize software solutions, employing programming expertise in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Build and deploy data products, including internal applications that provide actionable insights.
  • Communicate findings and technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of team initiatives, resolve technical challenges, and manage technical debt proactively.
  • Contribute to industry Thought Leadership through internal presentations and external research initiatives.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., ggplot, Power BI) to craft compelling narratives is preferred, but not required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Proficiency with cloud computing tools (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and data manipulation tools.
  • Expertise in statistical techniques, machine learning, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with data product development and deployment processes.
  • Ability to craft visually appealing and effective data visualizations.

To work #bettertogether, we operate with a hybrid working model. For those near a hub location, we gather in our office locations three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). For the remaining days, we work from home.

Flexible to work between the hours of 8AM ET and 5PM ET with the possibility to flex up or down hours depending on business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years Data Science experience in an enterprise environment
  • Bachelors degree in technology or like field required

The expected base salary for this position is $80,000 – $110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
